Fléizen
16. March @ 14:00 - 18:00
“Fléizen” is an agricultural method of meadow flooding that is used to increase the productivity of mown meadows. Ditches are dug with a meadow axe to divert water from streams and rivers in order to water meadows.
The afternoon begins with a theoretical part at the nature park centre in Esch-sur-Sûre. After the theory, a 2 km hike leads to the meadow, where the irrigation ditches are maintained and the participants can practice “fléizen” themselves. After the practical session, we hike back to the nature park centre.
