Discover Luxembourg’s largest drinking water reservoir from a new perspective by taking a guided nature tour on a solar-powered boat! Learn some interesting details about the flora and fauna on, in and around the Upper Sûre reservoir lake, facts about the history of the lake and the region and the topic of drinking water conservation. After exploring several remote branches of the lake, the itinerary also takes in a land trip to the “Burfelt” forest discovery centre.
The environment friendly tour takes around 2 hours.
Caution: departure for the 2024 season in Lultzhausen!
Amphibian tour
The Amphibian Tour combines the guided nature tour on the solar-powered boat with an interesting hike (±8 km) along the left shore of the reservoir lake. The solar-power boat trip generally starts in Lultzhausen. However, the return on foot starts in “Bärel”. The itinerary goes past the “Hellekessel”, a place steeped in legend, across the dam wall towards Liefrange. You return to the right shore of the lake via the floating bridge in Lultzhausen. The solar-powered boat, combined with a hike, makes it possible for the first time to travel around the reservoir lake in only 3 1/2 – 4 hours. The hiking trail is marked with the sign ES10.
