The aim of the “Network of Nature Parks in the Greater Region”, an Interreg project that was co-funded by European funds, is cooperation at the level of the Greater Region. Among other things, cooperation between the nature parks is to be improved and the parks are to be positioned as tourist and cultural destinations.
This network currently brings together nine members which, with their expertise and know-how, help the nature parks to progress.
Numerous concrete actions have already been carried out within the framework of this project: Further training courses for the technical staff in differentiated green space management, geocaching-geogames, the historical heritage of the conflicts in the Greater Region and the Nature Parks (“memorial space”), environmental education, barrier-free tourism, etc.
